Photos from the Saturday I spent visiting the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, Riquewihr, Colmar, and the Wine Road in the Alsace Region of France. Walking around the little towns was like stepping into a Disney fairytale, so quaint and colorful. And remember, just click on a photo to get a better view.
Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle...
Loved the stained glass in the castle...
Weapon room...
Had tons of paintings on the wall, telling stories of battle victories and such...
View of the foothills of the Vosges Mountains from the castle...
Photos along the Wine Road - countryside was a blur of vineyards, scattered little villages (each with it's own church - by law, no building could be taller than the church), and the Vosges Mountains in the background...
A small village along the Wine Road. You can see the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle in the left photo...
This is Riquewihr, the village that Beauty and the Beast was fashioned after...
The "little Venice" part of Colmar (city where the Statue of Liberty came from)...
The Münster (Cathedral) of Colmar, such a beautiful structure...
